LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: HBO’s newest series ‘The Last of Us’ is turning out to be another major win for the network and is one of the few shows that saw substantial growth in the audience after the premiere. The first two episodes have been pretty similar to the source material, but the creators have made sure to enter some elements that are totally different from the video game series. However, fans haven’t been much critical of the changes because of the quality of storytelling and how riveting those changes actually were. With Episode 3 set to premiere in a few days, the series is set to enthrall viewers by introducing two characters that will change the course of Joel and Ellie’s journey.

The third episode of the HBO’s post-apocalyptic series will see Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) continuing their journey after Tess told Joel to take the young girl to Lincoln and meet Bill & Frank who might help them to complete their cross-country journey to meet up with Joel’s brother, Tommy, and eventually deliver Ellie to the Fireflies. But there’s a huge surprise waiting for the viewers in Episode 3 which will feature a character that appears only after his tragic death.

So, what will happen in Episode 3? And who’s the guy making a surprise entry in the HBO series? Let’s take a look.

What to expect from ‘The Last of Us’ Episode 3?

Based on how Episode 2 ended, it’s safe to say that Joel and Ellie are heading toward Lincoln to meet Bill & Frank. The aforementioned characters are the only two persons who survived the outbreak and since then, Bill has now taken over the place. He has set up a lot of traps in the way so that the infected don’t enter the town. The reason why Tess tells Joel to meet Bill is that he owes Joel a lot of favors for the work Joel and Tess did for him. So, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Tess took Bill’s name without any hesitation. However, there is a surprise that will blow everyone’s minds.

Is Frank alive in ‘The Last of Us’ series?

If you love ‘The Last of Us’ video game series, then you should realize that we never see Bill & Frank together. As a matter of fact, Frank ends up being found dead by Joel, Ellie, and Bill. But it seems HBO is set to change all of that and introduce Frank as a living character. Murray Bartlett will be playing the role of the highly-anticipated character.

The aforementioned change assures that the showrunners of the HBO series are going in a much different route from the source material and are ready to give viewers a fresh perspective.

‘The Last of Us’ returns to HBO with a new episode every Sunday at 9 pm EST.
