LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Episode 4 of ‘The Last of Us’ mainly focused on Joel and Ellie continuing their journey in order to reach Wyoming and meet Tommy. On the other hand, it also introduced viewers to a new, menacing villain in the form of ‘The Hunters’. Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) are currently hiding in one of the buildings that come into the area governed by the hunters. However, a particular scene in the latest episode has made fans curious in knowing about the gigantic thing moving beneath the cracked floor.

With the introduction of ‘The Hunters’, one thing is pretty clear, this story arc will continue for a couple of weeks for sure as ‘The Hunters’ is a ruthless group that kills anyone who tries to enter their area or defy their orders. Now that Joel and Ellie have killed two of their soldiers, the group and its leader Kathleen (Melanie Lynskey) will do everything to get hold of those who killed them. However, the group has one more thing to worry about, and to be honest, it is the only thing the group should worry about for now.

What is under the ground in ‘The Last of Us’ Episode 4?

In the latest episode, Kathleen and Perry find a hideout used by Sam and Henry that leads them to the basement. Perry seemed to be paranoid about what he has seen in the basement and wants Kathleen to see it as well. As soon as they open the door, viewers get to see the entire ground filled with cracks and something huge moving beneath it. Perry and Kathleen get scared when they see that the movement beneath the floor is becoming more aggressive than ever.

They leave the room and lock the door. Perry knows that the thing present beneath the cracked floor is eager to come out and if it does, it would only mean doom for everyone. Perry wants people to know about it, but Kathleen is not ready for that because she doesn’t want them to be paranoid and damage their morale.

From whatever we saw in that particular scene, we are definitely sure that we are inching closer to getting our first look at the Bloaters. For the uninitiated, Bloaters are a form of the infected that have been acting as the host of Cordyceps for over two decades. Just because they have been infected for so long, their entire body is now covered with a hardened fungal plate and are harder to kill.

What happens in the video game series?

The Pittsburgh section of the game shows that a bloater is hidden beneath a hotel and wreaks havoc when the creature comes out of the ground. It would be interesting to see what The Hunters know about it and why they haven’t killed it already.

Well, we will get to know more about the group and the creature in the upcoming days and things are surely going to get intense after tonight’s episode.

'The Last of Us' returns to HBO with new episodes every Sunday.
