Spoilers ahead for season 1 episode 4 of 'The L Word: Generation Q' titled 'LA Times'

Several fans complained that the last episode of 'The L Word: Generation Q' was predictable. A lot of the new character updates were those that fans had already worked up in their minds. So without an element of surprise, it was hardly the best of the series. The makers now have to ensure that the upcoming episode takes it up a notch. And judging by the preview video, it looks like it will be.

In the video uploaded by Showtime, Finely (Jacqueline Toboni) asks Shane (Katherine Moennig) if she is really a 40-year-old. And looking at the gift package she is holding, it looks like it might be Shane's birthday. Last week, on a predictable arc, Shane not only bought the bar but by the end of the episode also slept with Lena (Mercedes Mason).

It doesn't take a lot to figure out that this is is a mistake. Even if Lena and her girlfriend Tess are having relationship troubles, it is not really wise on Lena's part to go and sleep with someone else. Add to that the fact that they are now going to be working together at the bar. Bette (Jennifer Beals) had even warned Tess against getting involved with Lena.

Speaking of Bette, after the scandal broke out, the campaign was put in jeopardy, but now with her having some control, she might be getting into murkier waters. At the end of the last episode, she greeted a woman from her past (Latarsha Rose) at her door. Dani (Arienne Mandi) sees this and is evidently shocked. After all, why would Bette jeopardize campaign once again?

That brings us to the most complicated situation on 'The L Word: Generation Q' - complicated yet somehow comical. Last episode Alice, in an attempt to bring Natalie's old and what she claims only close friend back in her life, tries to get them to hang out with each other. She thinks she will be unperturbed as Natalie spends time with her ex-wife Gigi (Sepideh Moafi). But the facade comes crashing down.

But in the upcoming episode, and going by the preview video, the girls are at a celebration - perhaps Shane's birthday - when Natalie tells Alice, "I want you," and then looking at Gigi, "and her". Could this be a proposal for a threesome?

Well, the girls also do look drunk out of their minds - so who knows?

According to the official synopsis of the episode: Dani is forced to get involved in Bette’s personal life. Shane grapples with a big decision, while Alice is profiled by a newspaper. Meanwhile, Sophie worries that Dani is pulling back. Finley struggles with her growing feelings for Rebecca, and Micah still doesn't know where things stand with José".

'The L Word: Generation Q' airs on Sundays at 10/ 9c on Showtime.
