Spoiler alert for 'The L Word: Generation Q' finale episode 'Lapse in Judgement'

And just like that, the first season of 'The L Word: Generation Q', the sequel to Showtime's hit 'The L Word', came to an end. Featuring quite an unexpected twist, the show chose to end with a cliffhanger, putting on hold each of its character's life at a crucial point in their lives.

This was a pretty courageous choice for an ending, especially because when they filmed it, the show hadn't been renewed for a second season.

And fans are loving the very dramatic ending to the first season. "To whoever gave us that ending... F$&$ you! You made me care so much... now I gotta wait till next season? Aaaaarg. It was fantastic... F U," said a fan (sic). "Ballsy af since they weren’t yet picked up for a Season 2. Can you imagine if they hadn’t been?!" pointed out another.

When Dani Nunez (Arienne Mandi) suggests that she and her fiancé, Sophie Suarez (Rosanny Zayas), elope to Hawaii instead of holding a big wedding in Los Angeles itself, we had predicted it would go downhill. And downhill it did go.

Sophie had spent the entire first season in loneliness, waiting on Dani to give her some of her time. In addition to that, they were having communication problems with very little transparency as Dani wouldn't open up to Sophie, which led to her feeling further neglected.

During that time, something clicked with Sarah Finley (Jacqueline Toboni). Despite knowing each other for years, they began developing feelings for each other, being by the other's side in times of need. But it wasn't going to be an easy choice to make for Sophie.

Sophie and Finley on 'The L Word: Generation Q' (Showtime)

In the finale, Dani is waiting at the airport for Sophie, who makes it to the airport, but is a surprising 'Sleepless in Seattle' twist, we never find out who she runs towards: Dani, who is waiting for them to board their flight to Hawaii, or Finley, who is on her way to Mississipi to resolve her past.

But it looks like fans of the show have made 'Sophie's Choice' (quite literally) for Sophie.

"My bet is on Finley," voted a fan. "I’m thinking Finley mainly because she cared WAY too much about her leaving without the possibility of her coming back," backed another. "Facts, bro. I’m gonna go with Finley too," and another point for Finley.

"Finley. Did you notice the smile of relief to finally be happy after many episodes of loneliness, tears, grief?" pointed out a fan.

Many viewers thought that Finley and Sophie's relationship had sudden beginnings, but it was something meant to be. "I hope so [that Sophie ran towards Finley]. I wasn't sure about it at first, because it seemed so out of nowhere, but damn I ended up loving them together."

We love Arienne Mandi's Dani. But if we were to be honest, we would rather choose Finley for Sophie - they are simply fluid with each other, a state of natural euphoria is in the air when they're together, and frankly, we ship this; because Sophie deserves this. She might have made her choice now, but we have a long wait till Season 2.
