This story contains major spoilers for 'The L Word: Generation Q'

When Dani Nunez (Arienne Mandi) proposes that she and Sophie Suarez (Rosanny Zayas) ditch their wedding planning, flee to Hawaii and just get married without minus all the pressure of expectations of their families, Sophie is disconcerted.

Dani suggests they will have a big party with their families when they get back. Sophie is not taken aback because Dani brought it up suddenly but because she kissed Sarah Finley (Jacqueline Toboni) at the hospital in the previous episode.

Dani had been burning the midnight oil for Bette Porter's (Jennifer Beals) mayoral campaign because of which everything else had taken a backseat.

As she got busier and busier, Sophie started feeling isolated and started blaming Dani for the communication problem they were facing as a couple (which is not entirely unfounded, by the way).

And then, out of nowhere, Sophie develops this chemistry with perhaps the messiest character on the show, Finley. When Sophie's grandmother takes an unfortunate fall, Dani is not is by her side at the hospital, Finley is.

It is there that their chemistry is made stronger by an emotional connection. Sophie bares her most vulnerable self to Finley, who understands the importance of just being there. She even chides Dani for not being at the hospital with Sophie, but that is because she is looking out for her.

Is what Sophie and Finley have that strong a connection that Sophie will compromise her engagement with Dani? Either way, the fact that it was enough to have her stray is proof enough that Sophie and Dani shouldn't tie the knot — their relationship seems to unfulfilled.

Sophie always finds herself pushing Dani to open up and tell her about her feelings. We also find Dani keeping Sophie out, not opening up to her and often withdrawing from any conversation.

With little emotional transparency like this, should they proceed with the marriage? With Episode 8, the series finale, we are predicting the makers won't give us a happy ending for this trio, so we are waiting with bated breath!

'The L Word: Generation Q' will air its finale episode on Sunday at 10/ 9c on Showtime.
