MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE: A British tourist was kicked out of Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate after he jumped into a pool.

Tommy Purcell managed to step over a low gate with a sign that read ‘Restricted Area: Do Not Enter’ and entered into the pool with his shirt off.

The British visitor was then escorted away by the security personnel while his wife recorded the ruckus.

Purcell’s act was slammed online and was called ‘disrespectful.’ Meanwhile, his wife defended him and said the legendary singer wouldn’t have wanted the man to be sent to jail.

Tommy Purcell's wife defended his 'disrespectful' behavior

The incident comes after a British tourist was filmed carving his initials into the 2,000-year-old Colosseum.

Nanny Murphy, Purcell's wife, shared the video on her TikTok page on July 5, with the caption, ”My husband jumped into Elvis' pool.”

She’s heard laughing while recording the incident with a female voice warning, “You're not allowed in there! You're not allowed to do that!”

“You serious?” Purcell replied. “Elvis didn't stop anyone!” Nanny said. “Make me famous, please. Make me famous,” the guard was captured saying as she brought the camera on him.

The clip was seen by over 14 million people and her following video was viewed two million times, as per Daily Mail.

People are so disrespectful

Nanny responded to one comment which said, “How is this funny? People are so disrespectful and I hope he got arrested.”

She said it was not disrespectful for someone to jump in a pool.

Nanny said, “Elvis caught someone jumping in his pool once and never stopped them. He never got them arrested, told them to stay in the pool.”

“We did get escorted because they don't want anyone else to get the idea to jump into it. And we weren't banned, so, yeah. How is that disrespectful?”

Before adding in a video comment, “By the way, we love Elvis,' and ended the video blaming the commenter for being 'jealous.'”

She is a regular on the TikTok platform with frequent updates on social media. Nanny has over 20,000 followers whereas her husband keeps a low profile online.

People reacted on social media. "I wanna know what’s the repercussions," wrote one curious user.

"Elvis is going to whisper in ur ear while your sleeping now 🙄🤌😂🤣😂, joked another.

Another said, "Her husband is so funny. Can’t wait to see the TikTok of him behind bars begging for him to be free."
