Kat Graham gets candid about her new movie 'The Holiday Calendar': "It's so darn cute"
The holiday season is nearing and Graham clearly can't contain all of that excitement as her new film, 'The Holiday Calendar' is all out to spread some big Christmas cheer.
'The Vampire Diaries' favorite witch Bonnie might have been off the screens for a while, but that face behind the character - Kat Graham - is brimming with thrill, as she walked the red carpet of the People's Choice Awards 2018.
Why? Because the holiday season is nearing and she can't contain all of that excitement as her new film, 'The Holiday Calendar' is all out to spread some big Christmas cheer.
Graham, who has been quite known for her particular dislike for stereotypical romances, cleared the air about what has been labeled as her 'love/hate relationship' with these movies. "It's not a love and hate thing... For me it's always about the script, right? So if the script is amazing, I'll do it in a heartbeat."
But that's not all that attracted her to play the role of a struggling artist in 'The Holiday Calendar.' "What's so amazing is that I wasn't expecting to fall in love with this Christmas movie which I was looking at," she explained in an exclusive interview with MEAWW. "But I completely fell in love with 'The Holiday Calendar'. I was like 'No way am I gonna get involved with The Holiday Calendar' but I did, with the stories, and the characters."
The official synopsis for the film describes it as: "A struggling but talented photographer inherits an antique holiday advent calendar, the contents of which seem to predict the future. Will this magical calendar lead her to love this holiday season?"
And speaking about the same character of the photographer that Graham brought to life on-screen, she told us, "The character was kind of like me... I recently got into holidays and stuff, especially because I grew up Jewish, so I didn't really have Christmases. So this was an amazing opportunity for me to actually have all my Christmas dreams comes true, and the movie is so darn cute."
In her very own words, Graham has labeled the movie: "It's so darn cute, and I'm so happy with this." Directed by Bradley Walsh, the movie stars Quincy Brown and Ethan Peck alongside Graham, with a script from Carrie Freedle and Amyn Kaderali. And considering it is a Netflix movie which came out this November 2, there shouldn't be any doubts remaining about the cuteness quotient of yet another rom-com, especially after the streaming giant blessed fans with the likes of 'The Kissing Booth,' 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before,' and the most recent, and slightly controversial, 'Sierra Burgess is a Loser.'
