Trust Netflix to just know when to amp up the spook-o-meter! As soon as it's time for the onset of October - or as everybody loves to call it, the Halloween month - the streaming giant will drop one of the most highly anticipated scary movies this year. Premiering for the first time ever will be the adaptation of 'The Haunting of Hill House', on Friday, October 12, globally.

The 10-episode horror show is not alone in its venture to spook viewers out; joining it will be another long-anticipated rather high-profile supernatural show this coming fall. Titled 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina', the show will debut on Netflix on October 26.



The official synopsis of the show describes it as "a modern reimagining of Shirley Jackson's iconic novel." They continue, saying: "The Haunting of Hill House explores a group of siblings who, as children, grew up in what would go on to become the most famous haunted house in the country. Now adults, and forced back together in the face of tragedy, the family must finally confront the ghosts of their past -- some of which still lurk in their minds, while others may actually be stalking the shadows of Hill House."

The star cast of the show includes Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino, Timothy Hutton, Elizabeth Reaser, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel and Victoria Pedretti, along with Lulu Wilson, McKenna Grace, Paxton Singleton, Violet McGraw and Julian Hilliard.

Created, directed and executive produced by Mike Flanagan - the man who gave us 'Oculus' and 'Gerald's Game' - the adaptation has Meredith Averill serving as co-showrunner and executive producer. Other executive producers on the series include Trevor Macy, Justin Falvey, and Darryl Frank. The series is being helmed by Amblin TV and Paramount Television.
