‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ is back and it just finished airing the first two episodes of Season 5. When Season 4 ended, things were uncertain for June Osborne (Elisabeth Moss) because she, along with other handmaids, brutally killed Commander Fred Waterford and went back to Canada. Season 5 starts from where we left off in the previous season and June is feeling relieved that her abuser is dead now. The emotions and the expressions on her face show why Waterford’s death means so much to her.

She experienced a lot of abuse at the hands of Waterford and his death is everything she ever wanted to see. Meanwhile, June finds out that Emily (Alexis Bledel) has gone back to Gilead in order to find Aunt Lydia. June is distressed after learning that and tells Sylvia that she will go back for her. However, Sylvia tells her not to do anything because she knows she is never coming back and that’s how Alexis Bledel’s character was written off. But it was Episode 2 that took everyone by storm and saw Serena doing something that made June very, very angry.

The concluding moments of the premiere are very intriguing and they have opened the doors for several outcomes. Meanwhile, two major characters also die during the premiere and that’s undoubtedly going to make Aunt Lydia unhappy. Overall, the first two episodes, directed by Elisabeth Moss, felt like a strong comeback for the series, but how did fans feel about the premiere?

Social media was buzzed with reactions to the premiere of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ and felt that the show has finally returned to its strong roots. One of the fans said, “I just finished watching the first two episodes and I'm shaking, speechless, and all the things. Blessed be all the dang fruits.” Another fan wrote, “That was a decent premiere. A little slow for my liking, but that seems to be the pace of the show the last couple of seasons. Excellent directing by Moss, and Elizabeth and Yvonne absolutely anchored the episode with their masterful performances. The clear stars.”

Another social media user wrote, “SHAKING CRYING SCREAMING THROWING UP.” Another fan tweeted, “Elisabeth Moss. THOSE EPS. Well done director.” Another fan said, “My Reaction Exactly for Seasons 5 Two Episodes Premier so Far! I can’t wait to see more!”

“Wow. Just WOW!! Elizabeth Moss is a brilliant director. Those two episodes were mind-blowing. What a way to start. Welcome back everyone!!” wrote another one.

The episode ended with Serena holding a state funeral for her husband and making it air LIVE on every news channel. June feels stressed after seeing that because Serena has managed to include someone in her plan that is most precious to June.

Well, let’s see what will June do now.
