One of the top four bakers on the show, Dana Commandatore from LA, California, made it to the final round of one of the toughest and complex baking competitions we had ever seen.
Competing against strong contenders like Brother Andrew, Alex, and Marissa (who had topped two episodes earlier), she found it quite challenging initially, but soon picked up the pace and passed every round with flying colors, so far. In Episode 3, she was also the proud "star baker" of the week.
However, the semi-finals and finals are always tougher on contestants, especially when the parameters of judging are based on creativity, innovation, finesse, and technical soundness of processes for every little element that makes a recipe perfect.
Meanwhile, fans are in love with what they see coming from Dana. Despite being an amateur baker, she has managed to bring culinary perfection and ingenuity to her dishes.
One fan liked what Dana did in the semi final rounds, as did Brother Andrew. "Sounds like the judges like Brother Andrew and Dana's canapes. I'd like any of the bakers' snacks! Yum AmericanBakingShow."
As Dana moves on to making the toughest dish of the day — a vanilla soufflé, she wins more hearts. Another fan is all praise for the baker and tweeted, “Amazing job on your soufflé @DCommandatore, @GABakingShow, #americanbakingshow"
With Dana becoming the top contender in the finale, one viewer commented, "Dana was on point, she worked hard and calmly, and definitely earned that Star Baker. Bummer about Alex, he was so strong and skilled, it was great seeing him compete. Bring on the finals! #AmericanBakingShow."
With the current final round, the competition is about to get tougher, recipes will get more complicated, testing each baker on every ounce of their culinary knowledge, technical skills, and dexterity of putting it all together, in hard-pressed time!
Will Dana make it to the top as America's Best Amateur Baker and take it home?
