‘The Great American Baking Show’ Season 5 Episode 3: Fans think judges are too harsh this week

When it comes to Christmas confections, anything and everything surrounding the holiday feels and tastes divine. But not when you have to make them in the finest way possible and run against the clock. Holiday special pastry and cookie recipes are complex and hence, not only tough on techniques and flavors, but also time-consuming.
The first round started with making classic tarts with the bakers adding their own improvisations on it. This was followed by a more technically tougher round, where the contestants had to make Napoleans and Palmiers.
Despite each of the six amateur bakers striving hard to put their best put forward at every round, the judges remained critical. As @dfwheat tweets, “Wow! The judges are brutal tonight! #AmericanBakingShow"
While we do understand why they had to, considering the show is nearing its finals soon, we also cannot overlook or ignore the beautiful pastries that each baker presented. Brothers Andrew and Alex continued to be on the top with their outputs. But it was not such a great day for Sarita, Tanya, and Marissa.
A fan, @MultiversalDork, comments, “I just love how kind all the bakers are and how much they support one another, it's such a delight to see. This competition not only whets my appetite, but it also warms my heart and makes me smile. #AmericanBakingShow”.
Despite the challenges being hard, judges being overly critical at times and not being on their side, the bakers are always cheering each other. With every round and every week, the competition gets tighter and the recipes get more complex. This week’s last round was perhaps the worst of all that the contestants had to face so far. And that made the judging more difficult and critical.
As @MultiversalDorkadds, “Oh yikes. Macaron tower, that is so tough. They're definitely not messing around with the tougher challenges as the finale nears. #AmericanBakingShow”
In a week’s time, the four-week challenge will come to an end and we will have the best ‘American Baker’ of the season.
‘The Great American Baking Show’ Season 5 will air its semifinals and finals on January 2, 2020, at 9 pm/8c, only on ABC.
