What do we love the most about the titular Dr Shaun Murphy and his next-door neighbor - turned best friend - turned girlfriend Lea? Their deep understanding of each other. When you have been friends for as long and as tightly as Lea and Shaun have, it's hard to not be on the same page about things keeping the best interest of each other in mind. But what good is a couple minus the occasional agreeing to disagree on things? The Season 4 premiere of 'The Good Doctor' brings exactly that dynamic to the mix as it teases Shaun and Lea overcoming a major relationship milestone, gradually.

Although at one point of the season premiere titled 'Frontline Part ' Shaun reluctantly admits to missing Lea, thus raising worry in the air surrounding their relationship, looks like the initial phases of it are brimming with bliss. One of the teaser snippets of the premiere episode shows Lea rush into Shaun's apartment barging through the door looking for her ID. As she is running around the house, rummaging through stuff strewn around, Shaun tries to convince her that this unnecessary detour of popping by his place every time she didn't find something for work wouldn't occur if she started spending nights over at his place.

Lea is dismissive at first; she deflects Shaun's proposition citing how untidy she is and how it would be too soon. It is of course the latter that strikes Shaun as odd and he becomes just as persistent with it as he is being about Lea giving staying over a shot. Shaun almost takes offense at the "too soon" argument, and when Lea says they have been together for only a few weeks, Shaun reiterates how long is fair enough for people to start staying over at each other's places in a relationship. Shaun doesn't look upset but expresses enough to show he is not letting this slide that easily.

It's not pestering, however, considering what a charming gentleman our protagonist can be, and also knowing Lea's commitment issues, maybe she does need this push from Shaun to let her know this is a safe space for her to relax her roots for a bit. If things get too intense, she always has the privacy of her own apartment to unwind in.

'The Good Doctor' Season 4 premiers on Monday, November 2, at 10 pm only on ABC.
