'The Good Doctor' Season 4 Episode 3: Who are the newbies? Meet Will, John, Jordan, Asher, Olivia and Enrique
Titled 'Newbies', Episode 3 of Season 4 sees Dr Audrey Lim put Shaun in charge of training new resident applications at St Bonaventure, despite Marcus Andrews's strict reservations about the young doctor being qualified enough to do so. Shaun isn't alone at the task though as Alex Park and Claire Browne are also in charge of the six new applicants at the hospital, and together they make quite the team. From talking about appropriate workplace conversation to offering Shaun helpful relationship advice, these trainees have already made their mark on the show even though not all six of them went through the first intense round. Here's all you need to know about the new residents, both in and out, at St Bonaventure.
Will Hooper (Sam Robert Muik)
The Rhodes scholar and Olympic rower came off as a next-level mansplainer in the latest episode. There isn't a thing Will doesn't know or wouldn't like to brag and explain to you if given the chance. Of course, he had to bear the brunt of his arrogance and ultimately couldn't get through thanks to his beautifully sexist views about women and their insecurities that Shaun doesn't wait to call him out for.
John Lundberg (Michael Liu)
John seems like a nice guy and an ideal candidate for the job too. But he cannot seem to get along with the senior residents and eventually pulls out his application. When fronted with the dilemma of how to win back Lea, Shaun turns to the applicants for help and support and being himself, straight up asks one of them if they have a boyfriend. John immediately responds saying he can't ask someone that in their workplace dynamic and while he's not wrong, maybe wait for Shaun to finish first the next time?
Jordan Allen (Bria Samoné Henderson)
Henderson, known for her standout role in FX on Hulu's 'Mrs America', plays yet another bold, assertive, Black woman who won't stay quiet just because the boss believes in something that she doesn't see as morally correct. Her character in the ABC drama, Jordan, manages to impress their head boss Marcus by undermining his medical judgment in front of a teenage patient who was in for breast augmentation. Jordan practically jeopardized her one shot at the residency on the very first day by going head to head with the boss, but she stood up for the patient's best interests and there's no reward enough for that.
Asher Wolke (Noah Galvin)
It's not every day you see an atheist with a god complex, leaving behind his Hasidic community at the young age of 18. What's more? He also decided to go off to med school and began dating men. That's Asher for you. enthusiastic and driven, he had the chance to tail Lim and Claire on an extremely rare heart transplant. Talk about a solid win!
Olivia Jackson (Summer Brown)
The seniors didn't seem to take too keenly to Olivia, whose every answer sounded more like an unsure question. It just seemed like she was downplaying herself a lot and that just didn't put things in her favor. Maybe some other day then.
Enrique Guerin (Brian Marc)
This lad shows up to his residency interview in a hoodie and swimming trunks. That's it, that should be enough to explain the personality that is Enrique Guerin.
'The Good Doctor' Season 4 airs on Mondays at 10 pm only on ABC.
