Leah coming home was a dream come true for Shaun, but clearly, he isn't able to prolong the bliss of being reunited with his girlfriend for long

After spending the first two episodes of this fourth season complaining about missing Lea (Paige Spara) and not being able to be with her, Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) was finally reunited with her at the end of Episode 2, when Lea showed up at his apartment. A sore throat prompted her to get tested for Covid-19 and only after she tested negative did she decide to show up, with all of her belongings. This is a dream come true for Shaun, but clearly, he isn't able to prolong the bliss of being reunited with his girlfriend for long or so teases the synopsis of the upcoming Episode 3 titled 'Newbies'.

According to the official synopsis of the episode, "With several candidates vying for residency at St Bonaventure, Lim tasks Shaun, Claire and Alex with mentoring the top first-year resident contenders." So far so good for Shaun and the others as despite being the youngest resident, he is buckling up better than most in the wake of this unforeseen virus' crisis. It is however the latter half of the synopsis that raises our concern for the couple, as ABC adds "Shaun inadvertently insults Lea while discussing the pros and cons of a controversial surgery."

While we can't really tell for sure how Lea takes this almost-insult from Shaun or the level of damage his tone could cause to their relationship, it's never nice being talked over when all you're trying to do is show an active interest in the other person's field. But then again, Shaun has always had his own way of communicating and the few people in his close-knit circle know better than to take his words or even tone for that matter too seriously.

While the season premiere showed Claire (Antonia Thomas) snapping at Shaun for what she presumed was him gaining some sick sense of fun out of their current crisis, at the end of the day, they know Shaun means well. So things like Shaun lashing out at Alex Park (Will Yun Lee) for putting things in Lea's cabinets or throwing stones at Aaron's (Richard Schiff) window just to get relationship advice is usually ignored as Shaun just being himself. Hopefully, the insulting tone he takes with Lea doesn't turn out to be that gravely damaging for their very new relationship.

'The Good Doctor' Season 3 airs on Mondays at 10 pm only on ABC.
