As Covid-19 cases keep piling at St Bonaventure, that's not the only crisis Dr Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) and his colleagues must overcome. Especially for Shaun, there's the added stress of being the youngest senior resident onboard as newer applicants who were able to make it through the initial rounds are put under him.

Shaun happens to be the only doctor at the hospital with two junior residents under him and while others might insist that's almost a blessing if the teaser snippets are to be followed, things don't go according to plan at all for our titular protagonist.

In the previous and third episode of Season 4, we saw Dr Audrey Lim explain her decision of appointing Shaun in charge of the residents saying he has zero social skills and at best, would be the most honest boss to work with for the newcomers. And that proved true as, by the end of the episode, Shaun was down to discussing his personal and romantic life with the new residents, actually taking their advice in the matters of Lea. But that calm clearly didn't last long as expectations seem to build up amid newer cases at the hospital.

The official synopsis of the upcoming Episode 4 titled 'Not the Same' teases "Morgan and Shaun's pregnant patient with twins has pain, forcing the doctors to grapple with a decision no one wants to make." The said patient's blood pressure falls amid clueless new residents not quite being sure how to best tackle the situation, thus putting her unborn child's life at risk. On top of that, pressure on Shaun boils over as his seniors at the hospital alarm him that failure to perform on a junior resident's part is the fault of the senior doctor they are working under. The teaser also hints at high action and intensity scenes inside the operation theatre as the patient in question looks like they are succumbing to a flaw on the residents' part.

With Shaun calling out the first years' distractions' in the teaser, will he be able to overcome the drawbacks of those appointed under him, or will all of this result in him losing his senior status the way Morgan was asked to remove herself from the OT? Only Episode 4 will tell!

'The Good Doctor' Season 4 airs on Mondays at 10 pm only on ABC.
