Dr Claire Browne has been quite out of her elements lately. But she took a leap this time and ended up with a one-night-stand, and that too with a married man. Without discussing her personal choices or dissecting her character, let us get to what ensued from the event.
As uncanny as coincidences are, she finds the same man admitted at St Bonaventure the next morning. Apparently, he meets with a bad accident and Claire ends up attending him. While running diagnoses, Dr Browne helps Dr Park discover that the patient had been on MDMA, which caused him to crash. Claire seems to have knowledge about this but acts unaware.
According to @aclarkcountry, “Of course he's high on something, he took something with Dr. Brown. #TheGoodDoctor”
For the uninitiated, MDMA, or what is called Ecstacy/Molly on the streets, is a potent recreational drug, which can cause altered sensations, increased energy, empathy, and pleasure, with effects lasting up to six hours. Typically, fans are in favor of Claire but her current attitude is disappointing fans. As @KitBee92Tweets, “CLAIRE!!!!!! MDMA!!!!!! OH MY GOWD!!! #TheGoodDoctor”
According to @StarMztyk, “Claire knew exactly what he was on. #TheGoodDoctor” So, as a doctor, if Claire already knew about what her date was using, she is partly responsible for what happened to the man.
We understand that Claire has been through a lot. She is confused about her life, her emotions, and seeking comfort in places, which, perhaps would end up only breaking her heart. However, this is no excuse to knowingly put a man's life at risk. Although she suffers the consequences, it is still not easy for us to see her making such mistakes.
Fans are as upset as we are, and a tad shocked that Claire could let go of such a serious thing and it’s hard to believe that she didn’t expect the repercussions. Like @ArchLinHamada14, all we can say is “What have you done, Claire #TheGoodDoctor”
‘The Good Doctor’ Season 3 airs on Monday at 10.30 pm on ABC.
