'The Good Doctor' Season 3 Episode 14 Preview: Shaun Murphy becomes a social media star when the show returns
We knew last week that ABC's hit medical drama is going on a short hiatus, yet again. The show barely came back from its winter break and we were all set to get hooked onto the stories of our favorite doctors, but we have no choice but to wait.
'The Good Doctor' is on a two-week break since its last episode 'Sex and Death' and will only be back on February 10, which is another week from now.
So, what's in store when it comes back? Well, that's what we need to look forward to. As the preview of Episode 14 'Influence' shows, Shaun will get a patient who is a social media influencer.
And as we all know how influencers are today, they don’t spare even the slightest opportunity to talk about their experiences and make it widespread on social platforms.
The young patient learns about Shaun and his miraculous abilities to diagnose and how despite being autistic, he has managed to close impossible cases in a very short time.
Hence, she shares a post about Shaun on her social media profile telling the world about how brilliant he is. This is definitely an achievement to laud and be proud of.
However, knowing how reclusive Shaun is, he would be thrown off by such a public display of his personality and his shortcomings. The post goes viral and he finds people hounding him to make him more popular and he ends up disappointed.
The young savant has just managed to make sense of the world and is trying to live in peace and happiness like a normal person and this sudden spike of social popularity can turn out to be overwhelming for him. As we see him commenting to his patient, "You had no right to tell the world about me."
In his defense, Shaun has all the right to keep his autistic abilities to himself, away from millions of people. He has all the reasons to be upset. But will his reaction make him take his hands off the case? Guess, we will need to figure out when the show comes back from its break.
