DES MOINES, IOWA: 'The Girls on the Bus', inspired by Chozick's 2018 memoir 'Chasing Hillary', made its debut on Max, on Thursday, March 14. The political drama series features Melissa Benoist, Natasha Behnam, Christina Elmore, Brandon Scott, and Carla Gugino in key roles.

In its ten-episodic run, the series takes viewers through the journey of four female journalists who relentlessly pursue interesting scoops around presidential candidates while dealing with their issues.

In the first episode, viewers are introduced to Caroline Bennett (Joanna Gleason), the frontrunner in the presidential race.

Each journalist wrestles with the challenge of delivering front-page-worthy stories while embarking on a quest for truth, dedicated to serving the news with objectivity for the benefit of the American citizens.

In Episode 2 of 'The Girls on the Bus', Kimberlyn Kendrick (Christina Elmore), the journalist at Liberty Direct News, is determined to uncover Caroline's truth and reveal it to the public. She perceives Caroline's actions not only as embarrassing but also driven by lust and gluttony.

Kimberlyn reaches out to Delia Brown, the daughter of Amanda Brown, who was involved in Caroline's s** club. Through Delia's assistance, Kimberlyn persuades Amanda to give her an exclusive interview, intending to expose Caroline's secrets.

Meanwhile, Kimberlyn encounters challenges in earning respect from her white colleagues in the newsroom, who undermine the importance of her coverage by making inappropriate jokes.
