'Supergirl' star Melissa Benoist shares photo with Chris Wood on Earth Day and Karamel fans say 'we miss you'
On Earth Day, 'Supergirl' star Melissa Benoist took to Instagram and posted a photo with husband Chris Wood. Fans were more than happy to see a photo of their favorite couple together and couldn't stop flooding the post with hearts and comments. Wood, who played the role of Mon-El on 'Supergirl', married Benoist on September 1, 2019. Over a month ago, Benoist had announced that she was pregnant.
In this recent photo, Benoist wrote, "Happy Earth Day from a person who thinks Earth Day is every day. More important now than ever to take care of her."
Benoist's co-star Nicole Maines commented on the photo with several hearts while other fans were just excited to see a 'Karamel' photo.
One fan wrote, "My favourite couple ever." Another added, "Miss you guys so much..."
"The fandom missed you," wrote a fan. "Hope you, Chris and baby are doing well," another commented. "You are the best couple," a fan added.
Another user asked about the future of 'Supergirl'. "So happy you are pregnant and I'm a huge fan, but what's the plan for the rest of Supergirl? Asking for a friend and the friend is everyone who watches the show," the fan asked.
Another wrote, "My Karamel in real life..."
As it has been a while since Benoist posted a photo, a fan wrote, "YOU'RE BACK!! We missed you!" Another wrote, "You guys are the best."
"Kara and Mon-El..." wrote another.
Romance began to brew between the couple on the sets of 'Supergirl' where Wood played the role of Mon-El, who is Kara Danver's love interest. Chris essayed the role for over two seasons and returned for one episode in the fifth season to mark the 100th episode of the show. In 2017, they made their relationship instagram-official when they were seen packing on the PDA in Cancún, Mexico.
They "kissed passionately" several times and appeared to be in "their own world". According to an eyewitness, the two "couldn't keep their hands off each other".
Melissa had written about the engagement in an Instagram post. She shared a photo with him and the ring on full display. She captioned the photo, "Yes yes yes it will always be yes." They exchanged marital vows in September last year. The duo exchanged vows at a private estate in Ojai, California.
"It was a beautiful setting for a wedding very peaceful and quiet," a source told E! News, noting the ceremony took place beside a pool. "The vows were brief and lasted about 15 minutes. There was lots of cheering and applause as it ended," the source said.
Melissa was earlier married to her 'Glee' co-star Blake Jenner. The two tied the knot in 2013. However, Melissa filed for divorce in late 2016.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the production on 'Supergirl' has stalled and the season is cut short. The next episode for The CW show returns on May 3, Sunday, at 9pm, just after 'Batwoman'. The episode is titled 'Deux Lex Machina' and centers on Lex Luthor and his rise to power after 'The Crisis On Infinite Earths'.
