Matthew McConaughey and Hugh Grant are not just amazing actors, celebrities, and influencers, but are also two very loving sons.

The stars just tried to set up a date between their parents. McConaughey’s mother and Grant’s father will most likely to go on a date, and all credit goes to their respective sons for playing cupid in their story.

Kay McConaughey, 88, lost her husband, Jim (Matthew’s father) in 1992, and has been a widower ever since. And Grant’s father, James, 91, lost his wife (Hugh’s mother) Finvola, in 2001. The duo had been trying to bring their parents together and finally set up a date in the coming weeks. In fact, the two stars (and co-stars) have been planning this union since December. And looks like they finally managed to get it done!

Kay has appeared quite a few times with her son and daughter-in-law at the red carpet of many Hollywood events, especially at the Oscars, and very recently, she spoke candidly to the media about her journey as a mother and raising three children, and so on.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, as reported by Today, McConaughey shared his excitement about the prospective rendezvous of the two parents and said that he looked forward to it. Matthew told ET: "His father's 91, my mother's 88. They're going out. Next week, they're supposed to meet, and we probably won't see them for the rest of the night."

And Grant said: "We did set them up, it's gonna be red hot. [I could get into] Matchmaking. They have to be over 85.."

Both McConaughey and Grant will be featuring soon in their upcoming movie, ‘The Gentlemen’. The stalwarts of the movie industry will come together for the first time on the big screen with this crime drama thriller.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, Grant and McConaughey will star alongside Charlie Hunnam, Colin Farrell, Jeremy Strong, among many others. The plot follows the story of private eye Fletcher (Grant) who makes a living by digging up dirt on rich, famous, and shameless souls of the society and uses it to his own benefit. But his investigation of drug lord Mickey Pearson (McConaughey) turns out to be something he had never expected.

The movie premiered at London’s Curzon Mayfair Cinema, in December 2019, and will be released in the United States and the United Kingdom, in January 2020.
