'The Flash' Season 6 Episode 7 preview: Bloodwork is back and he gives Barry a dose of his deadly abilities
Team Flash may be preparing for the 'Crisis' and the imminent death of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), but they still have Dr. Ramsey Rosso's Bloodwork (Sendhil Ramamurthy) to deal with. Episodes five and six 'Kiss Kiss Breach Breach' and 'License to Elongate' focused on Carlos Valdes' Cisco Ramon and Hartley Sawyer's Ralph Dibny as Barry tried to get them to work in a world without the Scarlet Speedster. As seen from the promo and the synopsis, Bloodwork is back and the team will have to tackle that threat before the impending multiverse-shattering battle.
According to the official synopsis, Barry will face off against Rosso who gives him a dose of his abilities when he infects the speedster with a mysterious, hallucinogenic contagion. What follows is Barry going through visions quite similar to Scarecrow's halogen gas that gave Batman terrifying visions in 'Batman Begins'. The second storyline will be Iris (Candice Patton) uncovering a conspiracy. That this episode has two parts to it suggests there's a solid plotline in place to establish the Barry-Bloodwork dynamic.
In many ways, Rosso has been going through the same turmoil as Barry as he battles the same cancer his mother was diagnosed with. In addition to the 'Crisis', Barry also faces a formidable foe in Bloodwork. It remains to be seen how Barry gets out of this one. The two episodes will also be followed by the epic crossover episode, 'Crisis on Infinite Earths, Part 3'. The million-dollar question, is will Bloodwork be neutralized before the 'Crisis'?
