'The Flash' Season 6 Episode 7: Barry feels drained as he fights off hallucinations in 'The Last Temptation of Barry Allen, Part 1'
In 'License to Elongate', the spotlight was on Hartley Sawyer's Ralph Dibny and his official introduction as Central City's superhero, but all this is after he and Barry go undercover on a mission after finding a lead on Sue Dearborn. The 'Crisis', Bloodwork and Cisco were largely absent then but it looks like the upcoming episode 'The Last Temptation of Barry Allen, Part 1' will shift the focus back to the Scarlet Speedster and Bloodwork. From the promo, it seems the plot revolves heavily around Dr Ramsey Rosso aka Bloodwork (Sendhil Ramamurthy) and Barry (Grant Gustin).
The CW released the official synopsis for the mid-season finale. It reads: "PART ONE OF THE MID-SEASON FINALE -- As Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) stands on the threshold of his impending death in Crisis, his convictions are tested when the monstrous Dr. Ramsey Rosso (guest star Sendhil Ramamurthy) infects The Flash with a mysterious, hallucinogenic contagion. Meanwhile, reporter Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) uncovers a vast conspiracy.
The promo too shows Barry going through a hallucination phase as he sees visions of the Crisis wave. Guess the series has moved back to the darker side again as it shows Barry suffering throughout. You can watch the promo here:
In many ways, Rosso has been going through the same turmoil as Barry as he battles the same cancer his mother was diagnosed with. In addition to the 'Crisis', Barry also faces a formdiable foe in Bloodwork. It remains to be seen how Barry gets out of this one.
'The Flash' airs Wednesdays 8 pm on The CW.
