'The Flash' season 6 may see Godspeed travel back in time to lock horns with Barry Allen

Looking for payback after his failed scrimmage with Barry's daughter, Nora, the supervillain may just set his sights on the Scarlet Speedster in the upcoming installment

The new season of 'The Flash' set to debut this October and everyone is absolutely amped about the fact that 'Crisis' will finally be aired after being teased for five seasons. However, with the CW show usually sticking to its format of 22 episodes, there's plenty of room to introduce new metas, team members and deadly foes who would play a part in 'Crisis'.

Speaking of foes, each season has introduced an evil speedster to challenge Barry Allen (Grant Gustin). The pilot season had Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) as the Reverse-Flash, followed by Zoom (Teddy Sears) in season 2. The following season pitted Barry against his time remnant, Savitar. The recently concluded season saw Barry's daughter, Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy), make a trip from the future along with the comics' famous villain, Godspeed.

The arrival of Godspeed was welcomed by fans as his introduction in the Arrowverse was, well, late by four seasons. Played by Kindall Charters, August Heart aka Godspeed made an appearance in season 5 and was seen as Nora's first enemy in the future.  While he has a fair bit of history in the comics, starting off as colleague of Barry’s from the present day, and becomes an antihero of sorts trying to avenge his brother’s murder, most of that story was scrapped for the TV version with Godspeed retooled to a guy just trying to give himself speedster powers via Velocity 9. Last we saw, Nora defeated Godspeed with some help from an imprisoned Thawne and that was it for the much-anticipated supervillain.

Come season 6 and we're pretty sure that Barry and Co. will try and repair some of the damage that Nora caused. In a desperate attempt to know her father, she tampers with the timeline traveling back to the future and that eventually results in her dying in Barry and Iris's (Candice Patton) arms. While this happens, parallelly, we can be sure that Heart too, is out there in the future and is looking for payback.

Except, this time his opponent would be Barry.

How? Nora's timeline debacle means the future has changed. The 'Crisis' date countdown slips from 2024 to 2019. Meaning Godspeed's introduction in 2049 too may jump to the present day. Since the drug, Velocity 9, is already available on earth, we can assume that Heart may somehow manage to get his hands on the formula and use it to drain Barry's speed.

It has already been established that Godspeed will reappear in season 6, but until we know the degree of his involvement we can only speculate what he may be up to.
