'A Flash who's not wanted by cops': Fans want WB to replace Ezra Miller with Grant Gustin

Ezra Miller's recent activities have made people really angry and they want Grant Gustin to be the Flash in DCEU

For the last few years, fans have been eagerly waiting to see Ezra Miller playing the role of ‘Flash’ in the solo movie based on the highly popular comic-book character. The first teaser trailer for the movie received massive response from the audiences and they were really eager to see Ezra showing his impeccable acting in the movie. Additionally, everyone was excited to witness Michael Keaton’s camaraderie with Ezra’s character.

However, these recent weeks haven’t been ideal for Miller and the movie ‘Flash’. In March 2022, the actor was arrested on the charges of “disorderly conduct and harassment” in the Hawaiian town of Hilo.

However, things got bad to worse when in April 2022, Miller was once again arrested for assaulting a woman with a chair. A report also suggested that the 29-year-old actor is responsible for doing severe physical and psychological abuse against teenager(s).

Since then, the calls for removing him from the ‘Flash’ movie have been growing and fans don’t want to see Miller playing the role of the iconic character.

Fans are not shying away from letting Warner Bros. and DC know that they want someone else to don the iconic costume. The first name that popped up in everyone’s minds is none other than Grant Gustin.

Gustin has been playing the role of the fastest man alive in The CW series ‘The Flash’ since 2014. The actor garnered worldwide recognition due to the role and earned massive fan following and social media didn’t hold back in saying that they want Gustin to play Flash in the future movies. 

One of the fans wrote, "I think Grant Gustin should be cast as the new DCEU Flash … Grant has been The Flash for years and is really good at it .. and he also seems like a decent person unlike some people * cough * Ezra * * cough * cough *."

Another fan wrote, "Friendly reminder that Grant Gustin has been proving himself as Barry Allen for almost a decade and also ISN’T WANTED BY THE POLICE." Another fan tweeted, "Grant Gustin deserves a promotion."

Meanwhile, one of the social media users said he can't wait to see Grant Gusting playing The Flash on the big screen because he deserves it so much. The user wrote, "The only CW actors I hope make it to the big screen are Tom Cavanagh/Grant Gustin.Those two should be the Flash/Reverse Flash of the DCEU. All their scenes together in the Flash TV show are leagues above every other scene."

"Don't think anyone will ever remember Ezra Miller's Flash. Grant Gustin is the perfect Flash/Barry Allen. And he's achieved that on a shoestring budget and often mediocre writing lately," said another Twitter user.

On the other hand, one of the fans wanted WB to "bite the dust" and recast Flash, believing that Gustin should be prompted. The user wrote, "WB needs to bite the bullet and recast Barry Allen. Delay the release. Grant Gustin is right there, a well liked actor most of us already embrace as the Flash, who doesn't have a history of *checks notes* grooming children and going on wild pre-murder/suicide rampages."

Interestingly, Miller and Gustin shared the same frame together as The Flash in 'Crisis on Infinite Earths'. There are thousands of tweets suggesting that people would love WB to recast The Flash in DCEU and it seems, Gustin is at the top of their list. But it's really sad to see how a promising actor like Ezra Miller got tangled in such a situation that has taken his career six feet under the ground.

Let's see what action does WB and DC take because a lot of things ride on their decision.
