'The Five' host Jesse Watters calls American hostage release by Hamas a 'tactic' to make Israel halt ground invasion
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News host Jesse Watters questioned the intentions of Hamas as the group recently made a move to release two American hostages.
According to the 'The Five' host, the hostage release was made with the hopes to delay the ground invasion which is feared to cause even more destruction and death in the Gaza Strip.
Watters encouraged the invasion and wanted America and Israel to remain standing on their decision to infiltrate the area.

Jesse Watters believes hostage release was a tactic against ground invasion
The Fox News host entertained the possibility that Hamas might just have released the hostages in order to avoid facing close attacks from the Israeli defense forces.
"They are trying to drive up a little bit of a wedge here," Watters said, "I understand the tactic. Iran is involved, the Qataris are kind of tangentially involved and Hamas is involved because this is the only leverage they have."
He stated, "They have been doing this, begging other Arabs to get involved in this assault [but] they are not, despite a few missiles from Yemen."
He added, "This is their other way of saying, 'Hey guys! You know what, if you just halt this ground invasion, we'll release the hostages.'"
Watters confessed that he did not have faith in Hamas' intentions.
He declared, "I'm not buying it...I don't think Israel right now is as concerned with returning hostages as they are with decimating Hamas."
Jesse Watters worries ground invasion could go badly for Israel
Watters then went on about how the IDF will set out the assault saying that it will get "ugly." He also, once again, made suggestions of flooding the tunnels housing Hamas members despite being corrected by a retired official just a few days ago.
"They're gonna go in with tunnel rats with knives and maybe even flood them," he said.
Watters also seemed concerned that the "ugly" invasion would span over an extended time and cause further difficulty with the Arab nations, stating, "I don't know if they're gonna have time to do that."
He claimed, "They said that they are going to do this for a year. They don't have a year!" explaining his view, "As this ground assault develops, all of these Arabs, who are angry already, are gonna be watching... and they're gonna see the devastation, the destruction, and it's gonna look really bad."
He then proposed the final question to the American and Israeli governments on what their next move in regards to the invasion would be.
He asked, "Does the United States and does Israel, do they have the focus and determination to let the ground assault play out no matter what the PR collateral damage is?"
