NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a segment on his primetime show on Fox News about the Israel-Palestine war, Jesse Watters went on to suggest that the Israeli military should consider flooding the underground tunnels used by Hamas to curb their attacks.

Consequentially, he got slammed by several netizens, and a retired commander shut down his strategy by reasoning that it might put the lives of unreported hostages being kept inside the tunnels in grave danger.

Jesse Watters suggests 'best option' for Israel to win war against Hamas

During his show, Jesse Watters stated, "Israel will have to act quick and take a page out of Egypt's playbook. An alternative to sending tunnel rats to conduct hand-to-hand combat, knife fights, and blind shootouts, would be flooding Gaza's terror tunnels."

He added, "Releasing thousands of gallons of seawater and sewage water into the tunnel system has been shown to work in the past. Back in 2015 and 2018, when Hamas was caught smuggling weapons through their border, Egypt flooded their tunnels full. 37 Hamas tunnels were taken out of commission."

Watters finally claimed it might be best for Israel to take up his suggestion, saying, "Unleashing the floodgates into Hamas' dark holes may be the best option to finish this war efficiently."

Jesse Watters gets schooled by a former NATO commander on his proposed military plan

Jesse Watters brought the flooding plan once again when he had former NATO Supreme Commander Philip M Breedlove over for a discussion on the military response to Hamas.

"The flooding of the tunnels...does that sound appropriate or would you go in with men or would you just maybe knock 'em out with some non-lethal gas," proposed Watters.

The commander made it clear that this strategy will put the lives of innocent civilians who are held as hostages in jeopardy.

"Well, first of all, Jesse, we need to make sure that they are not hiding hostages in those tunnels," clarified Breedlove.

The former commander added, "If we were to use the tactics which were well-employed by Egypt, as you talked about in the past, if we were to use those and not have good intelligence about what is in those tunnels, it could be a problem for us, couldn't it?"

MediasTouch did a call-out piece on Watters, saying, "Let's leave the military strategy to the experts, shall we?"

Similarly, others came forward to voice their opinions against the military strategy proposed by Watters.

One wrote, "Ah yes the person I seek when pursuing sound advice on military strategy."

Another added, "I, too, have some brilliant ideas on how to win battles, deal with terrorists, and free hostages. Unlike Jesse, I have enough self-awareness to know I know nothing about military strategy and tactics, and so I typically keep my genius ideas to myself."

"He's such an ignorant douchebag!" noted a person, while a user inquired, "It’s like 25 miles of tunnels how the hell do you have enough water to flood that?"
