'The Family Business' Season 2: Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about the BET+ show
On June 16, 2020, BET+ announced the release of Season 2 of well-received BET+ original series, Carl Weber's 'The Family Business.' Set to launch early in July, the series is based on the New York Times best-selling crime drama series by Weber and follows a loyal and close-knit family. By day, the Duncans have an exotic car dealership business in the Big Apple, but nightfall brings about some shady aspects of this family's ties with the criminal underworld. Here is what we know of the upcoming Season 2 of 'The Family Business.'

Season 2 of 'The Family Business' will premiere on July 2, 2020.
The premiere will launch half of the season with 6 episodes, an hour each.
Plot
The official synopsis of Season 2 reads, "This season will pick up where the debut season concluded as the Duncans work to calm tensions with rivals, The Zunigas. Family patriarch, LC Duncan and eldest son Orlando execute a plan to expand business operations with their proprietary drug 'heat,' but as they gain momentum in the venture, they face opposition from some old and new foes. For some in the Duncan clan, individual drama mounts that could threaten their lives and ruin the family business. Will they be able to stay intact and navigate these dangerous scenarios, or will things fall apart?"

Ernie Hudson as LC Duncan
Hudson has been part of the entertainment industry a while and has had both staging and guest roles. Some of his roles include Jamu in 'Fantasy Island' (1977), Lee in ' The Incredible Hulk' (1977), William Thomas in 'Little House on the Prairie' (1974), Kwame in 'Diff'rent Strokes (1978), Terry Carver in 'Taxi' (1978), Reggie 'The Sandman' Martin in 'Full House' (1978), and Detective Ridley in 'Desperate Housewives' (2006-2007). His most recent works include, 'Arrow,' 'Adventure Force 5,' 'Grace and Frankie,' and 'The Irate Gamer.'
Valarie Pettiford as Charlotte Duncan
Pettiford has been involved in many high-end productions, some of which include her roles in 'The Cotton Club' (1984), Lillian Frank in 'Glitter' (2001), Jackie in 'Stomp the Yard' (2007), Harriet in 'Why Did I Get Married Too?' (2010), Angel of Death in the musical 'Not Your Time' (2010), Shauna James in the short film' Response' (2009) and Aunt Geneva in 'Jumping the Broom' (2011). Her more recent works include, 'If Not Now, When?,' 'Blind Sight,' 'The Baxters,' and '#BlackAF'.
Other cast members of 'The Family Business' include stars, Darrin DeWitt Henson, Javicia Leslie, Sean Ringgold, Tami Roman, Miguel A.
