Game of Thrones season 8: Leaked photos show the Dothrakis ready to ride over to Westeros to help the Mother of Dragons
Leaked photos of the final season of HBO's 'Game of Thrones' reveal that the Dothraki warriors might be once again riding their horses across Westeros to rage war. The shooting for the eighth season is taking place in Belfast, Northern Ireland'.
A recent post by Lessans Livery Rayd and Riding Stables, which has now been removed from Instagram, showed that the Dothraki warriors, all clad in winter garments, are set to invade the lands for the Mother of Dragons. The original caption had said: "What an exciting week we’ve had to transform the yard into a film set. Try explaining to a Dothraki warrior that, even though the sun is blazing, Winter is here."
Originally taken in Saintfield, which is the same ground where the epic battle scene of the 'Battle of the Bastards" in Season 6 had taken place, it might signify the return of the beloved Khal Drogo (played by Jason Momoa) as the Azor Ahai- the Prince that was Promised- to slay the Night King. Saintfield will also witness the battle at Winterfell where the Starks and Daenerys Targaryen will fight against the White Walkers.
It will definitely be interesting to see when the screaming Dothraki hordes come face to face with the formidable force of the undead under the Night King.
The saga of the kings and queens who fight against each other for the Iron Throne is to return in 2019. However, fans have spotted the filming taking place in Northern Ireland, and reportedly, the story might take a different turn altogether. The set for Winterfell might be built on the Moneyglass Estate in County Antrim and might have 200+ extras for the big battle scene.
The last season saw Winterfell being treated as the rendezvous point for all the Stark children who had departed in the first season after the death of Ned Stark. Now all grown, and each equipped with their unique capabilities, the children will this time stand guard for their House, and probably fight to reclaim the Iron Throne for the King of the North. It will be interesting to find out if Sansa steps down from the throne, and actually, hand it over to her brother, who has been considered a "bastard" for so long. With Jon Snow's past being revealed as a Targaryen, the fight between the lovers- who are also aunt and nephew- will be an intriguing one.
The location has played a crucial role in the entire series. It is where everything started, and probably where everything will conclude. It now depends on Cersei if she will actually march north to join hands once again with the Starks to defeat the enemy of mankind.
While it is known that the makers of the series have used real fire several times to project either the rebirth of the Mother of Dragons as Khaleesi or the blue flame of the ice dragon to melt down the Wall in the North, it will be a heartbreaking image to see Winterfell, along with the Stark castle, burn down to ashes.
