'The Curse Of Oak Island' Season 8: Meet Lagina brothers and the Fellowship before show returns
Treasure hunters, hear ye! 'The Curse Of Oak Island' is back. So we've got several months of watching the Lagina brothers and their team scouring the island for treasure, and make exciting discoveries and hopefully unravel the riddle that has been plaguing historians and scholars for the past 200 years. According to recent sneak-peeks, the Lagina brothers hold a Zoom call to strategize how to get back to the island, as Covid-19 has made a dent in their schedules. The pandemic had affected the filming of the series, but that won't stop the Fellowship from returning to the island.
In new footage, we see the brothers catching up with the rest of Oak Island, discussing exciting new theories and potential discoveries. This time, like every other time, they're sure that they will finally get to the bottom of the Oak Island mystery. In the preview, Oak Island researcher Doug Crowell puts forth two historic surveys previously carried out by two treasure-hunters on the island, Fred Nolan and Dan Blankenship, which were never followed up. This is despite the fact that the two surveys indicated underground tunnels, including one that leads to the Money Pit. One survey also shows that there are four possible targets of buried non-ferrous metals, which as the team’s metal-detecting expert Gary Drayton points out, could just be gold.
The episode synopsis reads: "In the midst of a worldwide pandemic, Rick, Marty and the team return to Oak Island. Armed with evidence of possible tunnels leading to the Money Pit, the fellowship is convinced they have the tools to solve the Oak Island mystery once and for all."
Before Season 8 premiere, let's take a look at the Fellowship.
