The full-blown multiversal 'Crisis' in the Arrowverse is here and has already claimed its unsuspecting victims. This is a story that the CW has been slowly building from 2014. and is DC's answer to 'Avengers Endgame' which smashed records and emerged as the highest-grossing Hollywood film ever. The epic DC crossover marks the intertwining of stories that bids adieu to some heroes, while others might just survive the disaster that will change their lives forever. There are five episodes, and there are a lot of threads to tie up.

Keeping to the premise of the comics, the Crisis begins as imagined, entire universes are wiped out by a wave of anti-matter. The superheroes, including the Flash (Grant Gustin), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Batwoman (Ruby Rose), Superman and Green Arrow (Stephen Amell). However, much to the shock of fans, Green Arrow was unceremoniously killed in the first episode itself. Is he really dead? Because if he is, that's a terrible and disrespectful death, say fans.

However, there were many talking points. Fans are wondering if National City and Argo have been destroyed, and hence where does the Supergirl series go from here? One fan tweeted, "Hard to register it earth 38 National City gone. Argo city gone. If that stays including national city where does the series go from here?"

Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Lena Luthor (Kate McGrath) try to put aside their differences in the face of the Crisis. However, Lena is still frosty over the whole Kara-is-Supergirl lie and is giving Alex so much shade. One fan observed, "Only a Luthor would voice a grievance during the apocalypse (and that word is a gross understatement) when someone is asking-- no, begging, for their help."

Fans were excited to see Superman too, "I’m beyond hype that Supergirl has her own show and has the spotlight on her but damn I love seeing Superman." The episode sees Superman doing the same thing his parents did, forcing his son off an ill-fated world.

Another wrote, "Lena's attitude was very unnecessary given the circumstances. But I've come to expect that from her recently."

One fan took a potshot at the 'Supergirl' storylines of season 5. "Earth-38 gone. So I guess those weak storylines on 'Supergirl' this season ended with the wave?" They wrote.

There was a Titan reference too, and we got to see Robin. The Titan's universe gets obliterated.  "The music when the old robin from earth 66 appeared CHILLS, LITERALLY CHILLS."

Some fans were in total awe of the episode. One wrote, "WOW! That's how you start Crisis! #CrisisOnInfiniteEarths was filled with awesome cameos but they were not screwing around with the massive multiversal deaths. Here are the billions who died in #Supergirl's Crisis Part 1, including a major hero!"

The first episode of 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' aired on CW, December 8.
