'Crisis On Infinite Earths' Episode 1: Major character's 'disrespectful' death leaves Twitter furious and disappointed
*Spoilers ahead*
The first episode of 'The Crisis on Infinite Earths' released on CW on December 8, and going by the looks of it, it fell below the astronomically high expectations that fans had for what was supposed to be an epic DC crossover.
Apart from being patchy and all over the place, the most painful part was in the last few moments, when everyone's favorite superhero, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) died saving Earth. It happened rather quickly and ended with a few paltry dialogues. Could this really be the end of the superhero who kept us engaged for the past eight years?
Fans are not having it and are unleashing their fury on Twitter.
One fan tweeted, "That was a bum ass way to kill Oliver Queen . Really!?"
"WTF! That was the stupidest, craziest, most DISRESPECTFUL AND DISGUSTING deaths I have ever seen for a character like OLIVER FREAKING QUEEN! A character who is the best of the Arrowverse," wrote another one.
A fan wrote, "I think Oliver deserved a better goodbye / death scene. RIP."
Another fan wrote that they had been 'dreading' Oliver dying in the first episode and wholly hopes that he still manages to return. "Been expecting and dreading with all my heart that Oliver would die in #CrisisOnInfiniteEarths but not expecting it to be in the 1st episode. That's ridiculous. Surely he can't have died yet as @StephenAmell has been seen filming later scenes. I'm panicing."
The Monitor revealed that this 'was not the ending he foresaw for Arrow. One fan hopefully said, "The fact that he dies in the first hour and that the monitor himself said that this is not the ending he foresaw for Oliver gives me hope that things have changed and Oliver won't stay dead for too long."
