Nicole Remy: Seattle woman hopes to find love in Jane Austen's way via 'The Courtship'
On March 6, NBC and its streaming service Peacock will premiere a regency-era-inspired reality series. Like a modern twist on the old game of love, the show takes a page from Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice'. Nicole Remy, a woman from Seattle who is on a hunt for her own Mr Darcy, stars in the series.
'Pride & Prejudice: An Experiment in Romance' was the official title of the series but has now been changed to 'The Courtship'. The objective of NBC's new dating series is to show that chivalry isn't dead. 'The Courtship', a new NBC series, will appeal to those looking for a drama with a twist, a mix of traditional old love and modern dating.

Who is Nicole Remy?
Nicole Remy grew up in Lakewood, Washington, where she was the youngest of her parents' children. She had high goals and a desire to pursue numerous interests at the same time. She was the Vice President of the National Honor Society at Bellarmine High School and also a cheerleader at the school for four years. She became the captain of the cheerleading squad for two years. Remy took her high school talents to the next level at USC, where she received a Dean Academic scholarship and was a member of the famed USC Song Girls for two years while also serving as president of her sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma. She went on to get a bachelor's degree in GeoDesign from Cum Laude and began working as an architectural associate, creating both commercial and residential structures.
Remy understood she couldn't simply follow one love so she joined the Seattle Seahawks NFL cheering team as a Sea Gal for two years and departed with a heartfelt goodbye message in 2020 while working full-time in design.
Remy lost her job as an architect due to Covid. She changed her job path and returned to school to study coding. She completed a coding boot camp at the University of Washington. She secured a position as a software engineer and product manager on the founding team of a tech company where she still works today after many sleepless hours of learning to code and going through a rigorous application process for tech and engineering jobs.
Remy appreciates discovering the Pacific Northwest's natural beauty, particularly via various workouts. She enjoys traveling, reading new books, and practicing sustainability and mindfulness in addition to fitness and nature. She now lives in Seattle where she works as a software developer while chasing her next ambition.
