Building new social dynamics can get extremely awkward, be it at work, or in a relationship, as proves Darlene Conner (Sara Gilbert) and Jackie Harris's (Laurie Metcalf) recent woes on 'The Conners' Season 3. Having joined the place where hr mother Roseanne and aunt Jackie both once worked, Darlene isn't having the best of time. Neither is Jackie, as she navigates an absolutely unexpected romantic development at this stage in her life. Both equally aloof and quirky, our two leading ladies are in for some major awkwardness in the upcoming episode of the 'Roseanne' spin-off, or so teases the official synopsis.

According to the official synopsis of the upcoming Episode 5 of Season 3, titled 'Friends in High Places and Horse Surgery', "Darlene's friendship with a manager at Wellman Plastics lands her in an awkward situation." The last time we had seen Darlene's work-related troubles, she had been applying social distancing norms a bit too strong for her coworkers and was branded a snob. Maybe Darlene had come off as a bit rude, but that didn't call for her having to each lunch at her work bathroom. A public toilet is hardly a place to eat, let alone do that in the middle oof a pandemic. But Darlene adjusted as she would eventually have to, and things seemed better, but clearly not for long. It hasn't quite been teased who this new person she befriends is, but looks like there's only more workplace woes and awkward scenarios on the horizon for her.

Luckily for Darlene, she seems to have her aunt Jackie to relate to. Jackie, whose charm with the rifle back in the day, drew Louise's brother Neville back into asking her out, also has more discomfort in the recent future. The official synopsis for the episode also adds that "Louise's brother tries to win over Jackie by making a thoughtful gesture, creating uncomfortable tension." The gesture could be anything, from sending over chicken protein as he had offered, or even gifting her with a new rifle to twirl with, but none of that is helping the oblivious Jackie who can't seem to take the hint that this man might be really into her.

Also, there's that uncanny resemblance Neville bears with Jackie's ex-husband Fred, which only seems fateful for future prospects of the budding relationship. At least she and Darlene can comfort each other with empathy considering nothing is really working in their favour.

'The Conners' Season 3 airs on Wednesdays at 9 pm only on ABC.
