The Claus family change cities after the sudden passing of the father. They now stay closer to Noel Claus, their grandfather and the owner of a toy store. When they meet him, Noel tries to get the children excited for Christmas, especially Jules, who practically hates the joyous season since it's when their father died.
Jules tries his best to not let the festivities get to him but seeing other children spend Christmas with both their parents makes him all the more upset. His sister, Norah, on the other hand, is still uber excited about the holidays, wants a tree, some decorations, and bake Christmas cookies together. Talk of being poles apart!
As is the case with most Christmas movies, 'The Claus Family' has some surprising twists and nerve-rackers as well! Noel Claus reveals that he, in fact, is the real Santa Claus, almost as soon as both grandfather and grandson meet!
Things take a different turn after, as the oldest Claus delightfully shows Jules around, explaining his job and responsibilities. After he hurts himself falling off a ladder, Jules has no choice but to lend a helping hand, to deliver childrens' gifts around the world - all before Christmas day!
Although Jules isn't a complete fan of the idea, he takes one for the team, keeping his own father in mind. He not only delivers all the presents on time, he also does his mother Suzanne a huge favor by delivering a huge order of her special Christmas cookies to the president of the USA, thereby making her cookie revolution a success!
After Claus explains to Jules about the Santa Claus tradition that's been passed on from one generation to another for years, Jules understands that it is his duty to carry the legacy forward; it's what his father would've wanted.
The final scene shows Grandpa and his grandson agreeing on their secret pact for the following Christmas over a family dinner.
