LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Boys' Season 4 has dropped 7 episodes on Prime Video and while fans are upset about how the show has treated Hughie, there's another character facing equally tough challenges, if not more who has been sidelined.

Throughout 'The Boys' show, Starlight has been a steadfast symbol of justice and heroism. Her extraordinary powers have brought both responsibilities and challenges, but in Season 4, the spotlight shifts to the obstacles and hardships she confronts.

From losing her powers to a public altercation with another Supe, this Season presents her with unprecedented challenges compared to previous ones.

Since the start of 'The Boys' Season 4, Starlight hasn't been able to showcase her true strength. Taking a stand against Homelander and Vought's corruption, she joined the titular team and became a prominent face in the campaign against Homelander.

From her idealistic beginnings in the Seven, she has grown into a passionate advocate against Vought in Season 4, with more development to come as we await the Season Finale.

However, during a dangerous mission, Starlight's powers start malfunctioning, leaving her vulnerable without her main advantage. As she struggles to control her abilities, the risks escalate for herself and her team.

In Season 4, Episode 4 of 'The Boys' titled 'Wisdom of the Ages', Firecracker publicly reveals that Starlight had an abortion six months ago. This personal revelation causes Starlight to lash out and physically confront Firecracker on live TV.

It's later uncovered that this disclosure was part of Sister Sage's scheme to tarnish Starlight's reputation. Subsequently, Robert Singer, The President and a former ally she campaigned for, distances himself due to concerns about his reputation and poll numbers.

The fallout doesn't stop there. Starlight not only loses her public image but also the support of the President himself. In the recent episode 'The Insider', she is kidnapped by a shapeshifter who takes her place while she's held captive elsewhere.

These events take a toll on Starlight, both physically and emotionally, which is often overlooked.

Fans shred 'The Boys' creators for 'mistreating' Starlight in Season 4

Many fans took to Reddit to express frustration about how 'The Boys' has treated Starlight this season. They feel that Hughie is receiving all the sympathy from the general fans while Starlight is being completely ignored.

One Redditor posted a thread on r/TheBoys, with the caption, "The way Annie gets dunked on needs to be studied," where he explains how nobody talks about how the show is treating Starlight.

Many users agree with this thread, with one of them replying, "I was pretty excited seeing that she is improving with her powers and flying more. Then they just... Took them away, with no real explanation."

Another user wrote, "Season 2 Annie was my favorite. She was brave, I loved her double agent act. they wasted her."

Supporting Annie and Hughie, one fan wrote, "I swear, Eric has Reverse Flash-level hatred for Hughie and Annie. They've done nothing but suffer the whole season, and I don't see it getting better next episode."

Mocking the writers for doing Starlight dirty, one fan commented, "I loved it when Annie was crying, helplessly shouting "no I want my powers to actually work!" but the writers just made the same "useless eye glow" joke again. I was like "nice move, Kripke."

One disappointed fan said, "I thought she was going to do something today, Nah just locked in a room again."

One fan, speaking on how Hughie's SA was addressed but Starlight's wasn't, commented, "Everyone making a big deal (rightfully so) about Hughie’s SA being played for laughs seems to be overlooking, perhaps intentionally, the part where deep said to his rape victim “I don’t regret that I did it, and I’m not sorry.”

He further added, "They’ll say things like “they would never treat starlight the way they’re treating hughie” but like… it’s kinda close."

"I think it perfectly summarizes the way women are treated in the society. Not sure if it's intentional or not," wrote one fan
