'The Boys' Season 2: Release Date, plot, cast, trailer and everything you need to know about the Amazon Prime series
Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s hyperviolent take on the superhero genre has been renewed by Amazon Prime for a second season.
The comics-based TV show offers a refreshing new look at the world of caped crusaders as it asks the question no one else has been asking: "What if superheroes were all just the worst?"
Led by the vicious and charismatic Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Season 1 followed an unpowered but highly skilled team that sought to right the wrongs done by reckless, drug-hazed and corrupt so-called superheroes.
Their main target is America's number one superhero group, The Seven, who are let by the immensely powerful and somewhat unhinged Homelander (Antony Starr).
By the season's end, The Boys have all been captured, with the exception of their leader, Billy Butcher, who went solo to get revenge on Homelander for killing Butcher's wife years ago.
In a cliffhanger ending, Homelander, however, reveals that Butcher's wife is alive and well, living in the suburbs with her and Homelander's superpowered son.
Release Date
No official release date has yet been announced, but while announcing the film wrap of Season 2, Karl Urban slated the season's release for "Mid 2020".
