The new episode of NBC's 'The Blacklist' Season 8 might have been an eye-opener for many, but for others, it was yet another episode without lead character Elizabeth Keen aka Liz (Megan Boone). It's been three episodes now since we saw her last on the crime drama, with nothing being divulged about her plans for revenge against former mentor and ally Raymond 'Red' Reddington (James Spader).

The crux of this season happens to be Liz's vengeance and its subsequent result of her becoming a blacklister after Red killed her mother, Katarina (Laila Robbins) in front of her own eyes. But enticing as the arc must have been, the last we saw of Liz gone rogue was her tricking Donald Ressler ( Diego Klattenhoff) and Aram Mojtabai (Amir Arison) once again to benefit her plans while nothing came out of that in the following episodes. And while you're scratching your heads wondering just where the hell Liz is, fans' theories include actor Megan Boone being 'pregnant to explain this lapse in screen time.

'The Blacklist' Season 8 Episode 3: Can 'terrorist' Liz die already? Fans shocked as she's determined to kill Red

According to the official synopsis of the latest Episode 7 of Season 8 titled 'Chemical Mary', "the Task Force must race to stop simultaneous danger presented by two blacklisters. Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) approaches a congressman for intel." It's all fun and games with a classic tale of a cat and mouse story unfolding in front of our eyes, with the only problem being Liz's absence. While one can tell Liz is progressing with her plans, nobody really knows what these mysterious plans are or will amount to in the long run. There's speculation about her recruiting just as many blacklisters as possible to wage a war against Red for the loss he's caused her, but at the same time, there's very little or substantial actually being shown when it comes to Liz doing something for these plans.

Perhaps this is why fans are now resorting to insane theories like a possible pregnancy to explain just why the heroine of the saga is barely being given screen time on the final season of the show. Taking it to Twitter, a fan shared: "Since it’s been 3 ep we didn’t see Liz (and I think we won’t see her next week either), am I the only thinking Megan is pregnant so they’re hiding It ?"

To think of it, this might come from Boone actually being pregnant while filming the show back in 2016, because the extremely private actor is yet to share the good news to the media or otherwise yet. But either way, fans are getting desperate and just because she is not a fan favorite character anymore doesn't mean viewers are not impatiently waiting to see Boone in action or so reveal fans who are tweeting their disappointment noting "Yup I’m sad no Liz again [...] brb gonna go cry" Others even wrote to the channel's official Twitter account and that of NBC's asking "Has Megan Boone left @NBCBlacklist ?"

So far what we know about Liz's agenda is her plan to recruit as many blacklisters as possible - something she's doing in the background while also assimilating a chemical weapon as the episodic title suggests, to exact her revenge. Chemical Mary is the creator of this weapon and Liz is actually hiring people to kill her, and not Red (not yet) to execute her mission. She might be on the screen with the actions, but she's secretly carrying the mission out in the backdrop. To sum it up, Red best puts it when he says "She wants to break me, and then kill me, and I think it's safe to assume she's using the Freelancer and Chemical Mary to accomplish that." So all of this absence could just be a huge, dramatic build-up to that.

'The Blacklist' Season 8 airs on Fridays at 8 pm only on NBC.
