'The Blacklist' Season 7 Episode 5: Katarina discovers Red's secret identity while Liz remains clueless about her mother's plan

Ilya, as we all know, is Red's (James Spader) real identity and Katarina believes this person has the answers to all her questions

If you watched Season 7 Episode 4 of 'The Blacklist', you know that Katarina is working from the shadows and inching closer towards her goal, even as Liz (Megan Boone) continues to be blissfully clueless. We saw that even though Harold (Harry Lennix) gave her the leeway to take as much time as she needs to figure out how to balance motherhood and her job, Liz is finding it difficult to find a nanny who can take care of Agnus while she is at work.

When she had actually gotten really close to hiring a perfect nanny, Katarina (Laila Robins) intervened and ensured that it doesn't work out. We know that her primary intention of being close to her daughter is to collect information. However, it also seems like she has an ulterior motive of reconciling with her, based on the conversations between the two.

In the previous episode, we saw that Liz is growing increasingly reliant on Katarina, and even warned that she may have to do so even more since she is yet to find a nanny. This, obviously, is exactly what Katarina wanted in the first place, so she readily agrees.

Towards the end of 'Kuwait', we saw that Katarina has used this opportunity to snoop around Liz's house and found a brilliant new lead—a photo of Ilya Koslov.

Ilya, as we all know, is supposedly Red's (James Spader) real identity, and this person has the answers to all her questions, Katarina believes. She seems optimistic about this, but it remains to be seen whether she knows that Ilya is the man she knows as Red.

Moreover, we need to know if Red is actually Red and pretending to be Ilya to hide his secrets. 'The Blacklist' definitely looks to keep us guessing, and guessing we are, about the future of Liz, and Agnus, and Red.

We are primarily concerned about little Agnus because we don't want Liz's stupidity to endanger her.

Don't forget to watch Season 7 Episode 5 of NBC's 'The Blacklist' to find out what Katarina's next move will be.
