'The Blacklist' Season 7 Episode 3 sees Agnes unsafe after Liz fails to recognize her new neighbor is Katarina
The 'Louis T. Steinhil' episodes were truly intense, and just as we were heaving a sigh of relief, it came to our attention that no one is truly safe especially Liz (Megan Boone) and her daughter Agnes.
To recap, Red (James Spader), who trusted Katarina (Laila Robins) implicitly went to meet her all alone - even without Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq) - only to get drugged, abducted and tortured for information. Katarina and her associates tricked him into thinking he was smart enough to figure out that he was in a fake hospital and then tricked him into thinking the seemingly nervous nurse who helped him escape was his ally, and finally tricked him to take them exactly where they wanted to go - Dom's (Brian Dennehy) cabin off the grid.
Ultimately, Red managed to escape, thanks to the nurse flipping sides and Task Force reaching at the nick of time. It had seemed for a second that things would be back to normal at least until Katarina popped her head up again - which would not be all that soon. Or so, we had hoped. Turns out, she is desperate and would do anything to get the information that she wants.
The final -and the most chilling - scene of the episode saw Liz and Agnes walking by their new neighbor, Maddy Toliver, who just so happens to be Katarina. Liz is yet to recognize her devious mother, but her body language suggests she suspects something is wrong.
How long would it take for Liz to figure out the truth about who is living next door? We are scared for Agnes, and the only thing that puts our mind at ease is what Harrold (Harry Lennix) told Liz: "Katarina is your relative. We are your family."
The Task Force protects their own, and they are sure to protect Liz and Agnes when the time comes, and more importantly, Katarina has definitely lost all her loyalty points with Red, and the next time he sees her may probably be the last time anyone sees her. And, although Katarina tricked him one too many times, Red seems to have learned his lesson with her, and we can expect him to be more ruthless than we have ever known him to be.
