After just two weeks since its Season 8 premiere, NBC's hit crime drama 'The Blacklist' is already taking a backseat from airing. Sad as the occasion might be, let's just look at it as Raymond "Red" Reddington and Elizabeth "Liz" Keene's way of allowing us some much-needed festive time to look away from the screen that we have all been glued to since the beginning of quarantine. Taking things the signature way, the reason 'The Blacklist' is not airing this week is pretty obvious and simple. Wondering when will return next and whether all your burning questions will be answered when it does or not? Here's what we know!

Of course, the reason 'The Blacklist' Season 8 Episode 3 is not airing this week is that it's Thanksgiving weekend and although things are quite different this ear, NBC knows better than to keep its viewers from the good old fashioned dinner debates over mash and turkey. So off you go enjoy your celebrations, because 'The Blacklist' is taking more than just a week's worth of hiatus during the holiday season. In fact, there won't be any new episodes arriving any time sooner than January 22!

NBC is yet to release an official synopsis for the upcoming episode, but based on what's transpired in the last two, there are some questions that are expected to be answered when the show does return from its winter break. The biggest of those has to be why Red is hiding things from Liz? He has the archives, he thought is protecting Liz, and is constantly trying to assert the same even though he has just killed her mother.

That brings us to our next question - is Katarina Rostova really Liz's mother? We know the answers our FBI pro was seeking probably died with the Russian assassin, but none of that helps our curiosity. It has been made obvious over time and again that Karatina was simply manipulating Liz; from endangering her life for petty selfies, vested interests to actually turning her against the one person Liz could have always relied on - Red. That brings us to the most pivotal question of all - will Liz actually kill Red before his terminal illness takes him out?

At the same time, how much of a good guy is Red really? He claims he is not the bad guy here, yet keeps incessantly keeping things from Liz. Plus there was also the whole aspect of him saying "it's not that easy" when Katarina asked him about the archives that she had supposedly stolen, as per Dom, but are now with Red. Are these archives the answer to all of their real identities? We known N13 is Red, as Dom told Katarina moments before he died in Red's arms. Then who are Liz's parents? And why is Red so protective of her? There's only so much time left in this final season, hope 'The Blacklist' doesn't wait longer than January 22!

'The Blacklist' airs on Fridays at 8 pm only on NBC.
