Unlike most leads, Katie Thurston is smart when it comes to sharing updates on social media. It appears, even when she's spoiling her season of 'The Bachelorette', she does it enough to tease her fans.
Recently, her Instagram stories about the San Diego trip sparked rumors that she could be engaged to John Hersey, who used to bartend at Duke’s La Jolla, a pub Thurston checked in to with 'Bachelor Nation' alum.

However, 'Bachelor Nation' blogger Stephen Carbone has confirmed that there's nothing more to that information and that Hersey and Thurston are not engaged, contrary to popular belief. “Well, I can report now there’s nothing to it. Why? Because I’ve learned that I was wrong about John making final 4. He didn’t. He didn’t even make Top 8. So all the people who emailed me telling me there’s a ton of people convinced Katie’s with John, sorry, but that’s not the case. He’s not in her Top 4, let alone her top 8,” he wrote on his blog.
Who are the men who made it to Thurston's final four?
As of now, Carbone aka Reality Steve can confirm only two names - Greg Grippo and Blake Moynes, who is from Tayshia Adams and Clare Crawley's season. While Grippo is new to the format, Moynes comes with experience, which gives him an edge over the rest. Even though 'The Bachelorette' alum was eliminated in the 9th episode, he made a noticeable impact on the show.
Since leaving the show Moynes has diligently focused on building an image on social media. He regularly updates his feed with photos of him with animals. This continuity broke when he abruptly went off Instagram between March end and April. It was during this time that the current season of the ABC-backed show was being filmed in New Mexico. And that was how his news of being on the show spread like wildfire. However, his bio from the site is missing, which gives us a valid reason to doubt how authentic the news is.
Meanwhile, Greg has been dubbed as the "full package." Like most suitors on the show, he too wants to settle down, and being a "hopeless romantic" just helps his case. "Greg wants to travel the world with his wife before having kids, of which he says he wants to have at least six," the site read.
How did Thurston deal with all the pressure?
She enjoyed her time, to say the least. If we learned anything about Thurston from her stint on Matt James' 'The Bachelor', it would have to be the fact that she is direct and never shies away from stating the facts, which was exactly what happened when she opened up to People about her time on the reality show.
"Time is short," she told the outlet and added: "And you can't be okay with me possibly getting engaged in two months but not kissing on the first date. I've got to use my time wisely."
