'The Bachelor' Season 26: Fans want Gabby's grandfather to be 'first senior Bachelor'

With Season 26 of 'The Bachelor' entering hometowns, Clayton has to now meet with the family and friends of the top four women. This is certainly a pivotal part of the show, especially if he hopes to have a future with one of them.

Clayton has always had a fun-loving relationship with her when it comes to Gabby. Gabby has always made him laugh and Clayton has time and again mentioned how much humour matters to him. Going into hometowns, Gabby was excited for him to meet her family, but at the same time, was upset over her father's absence.

Gabby explained that although she went to her father for everything, his girlfriend of 10 years had cancer. Combined with the COVID-19 situation, neither wanted to put her health in any further jeopardy. So instead, Clayton met with Gabby's aunt Julie, her uncle Rich, her cousin Kira and her grandfather John. John took Clayton aside to talk to him about his relationship. He joked that Gabby was always a 'lovable dingbat and told Clayton not to rush into anything.

He added that he liked him but could also change his mind at any given time. When John sat down with Gabby, he joked that Clayton was 'full of sh*t' because anyone who liked her was 'full of crap'. Gabby laughed with her grandfather, and fans loved how chill John was. Gabby was grateful for her family being there and even got emotional over her dad not being present. However, a wonderful surprise was waiting for her -- Gabby's dad did pull up in the driveway, with a series of signs. Fans found it adorable.

And while the scene with Gabby and her father had fans emotional, the audience also wanted a new Bachelor and everyone seemed to be on the same page -- it should be John, Gabby's grandfather! John spoke about how Gabby should take things slow and how even after he lost his own wife, he continued to wear his wedding ring.
