'The Act', one of Hulu's original shows set to premiere on March 20, is based on real-life events that happened in 2015 and was the subject of a famous BuzzFeed article. The dead body of one DeeDee Blanchard was found at her residence following a hate message on her Facebook page.
Neighbours who turned up at her residence to check were shocked to find that DeeDee's then 19-year-old daughter Gypsy was missing. Gypsy suffered from various medical conditions, and according to the neighbours, her wheelchair, without which she couldn't move, was still at home.
