Spoilers for 'The 100' Season 7 Episode 4 'Hesperides'

Much before the seventh and final season of 'The 100' began, fans suspected that a minor character (albeit with a lot of myth behind him) would make a comeback in the final season. That character is Bill Cadogan (John Pyper-Ferguson), a cult leader who found Second Dawn before the first nuclear apocalypse (also called Praimfaya). Second Dawn was a cult that consisted of a group of people who wanted to survive the end of the world. To that end, Cadogan had created the Second Dawn Bunker, which seemed unused when our heroes came upon it in the fourth season when they were trying to figure out how they could survive the second nuclear apocalypse.

That bunker ended being used by most of the grounders and the sky people, with the exception, of course, of those who went back to the Ark and Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor) who ended up having to survive on her own until she found Madi (Lola Flannery). In the seventh season, we learn that the anomaly could lead to Bardo — among other places — and the people there are the descendants of those who traveled on one of the Eligius ships to Planet Beta, which we now know is Skyring.

The people of Bardo call themselves the Disciples and they follow the Shepherd, who seems to have set some stringent rules if people like Dez and Orlando — who seem like really decent people — have to serve penance. The soldiers from this week's episode also tell us that the Shepherd saved humanity "from the fire that consumed the earth". With Orlando's mention of him being Level 12, let's just say the coincidences stack up much too well for all of this to be unrelated to Cadogan.

Fans agree and are certain their theories about Cadogan playing a key role in the final season are right. One fan tweeted, "The more they talk about 'level 12' and 'The Sheppard' the more I'm convinced it's Cadogan or somehow related to him. #The100," while another wrote, "Bill Cadogan is the Founder of the Second Dawn. The people of the Second Dawn are his Disciples. The Second Dawn says 'From the ashes, we will rise'. The Phoenix rises from the ashes. The Phoenix is the symbol of Bardo. The people of Bardo are Disciples. It all connects." One fan tweeted, "What if the 'master' is a computer program. Cadogan can be alive this way. Sanctum already has a storyline with people in others' bodies. So on Bardo, they worship the guy who saved them from Praimfaya. He probably possessed a mind drive from Becca when she first made it."

A viewer opined, "Just saw someone point out Orlando is Level 12 like Cadogan or however you spell his name is the same level you need to get into his level for the bunker," while one tweeted, "Orlando is a level 12 Disciple Only those who had the 12th seal entered the 2nd Dawn Bunker The Sheppard saved them from the fire that consumed the Earth Guys..... it's Cadogan!!" However, some fans are unsure how Cadogan would have made it on to Bardo seeing as he might have been the one to burn Becca Franco (Erica Cerra) after she landed on Earth after the first Praimfaya. A fan tweeted, "I have a new theory... We will never see Cadogan in our current #The100 timeline. I know people hope he's around due to time dilation or whatever but I think he'll just be in the backdoor pilot episode. I think he's being saved as the prequel's primary antagonist."

'The 100' airs on The CW on Wednesday nights at 8/7c.
