'The 100' Season 6 star Sara Thompson would love 'Josie and Gabriel back in action together' but then again... 'evil is more fun'

Josephine, portrayed by the talented Sara Thompson, is the most notorious and arguably the genius character on 'The 100.'

The CW’s ‘The 100’ has taken us to many crazy worlds where we met some crazy people with crazy traditions – some of which translate to fatal. However, no storyline has been crazier than the one in season 6, which is wrapping up with episode 13, ‘The Blood of Sanctum.’

This season saw our protagonists land in a new world, where living conditions suit humans, but they also had to learn to protect themselves from many adversities and ranking high among them, are the colonizers who made the world their home many generations ago. We learned that the humans there have a system to keep the spirits of their leaders alive, and it is inhuman, to say the least.

Josephine, portrayed by the talented Sara Thompson, is the most notorious and arguably genius among them, and we loved to hate her this season. In short, she turned out to be a sociopath that even Thompson did not see her becoming, but she believes that everything her character did, and every decision that she made was fully justified. “I think that is why she is so hard to hate. She is actually quite genuine… Just has a few loose screws up there due to the traumas she was exposed to throughout her extremely long life.”

“The writers' room made the transition quite seamless and they did such an amazing job creating this cheeky hard-to-hate villain. One of my favorite parts about Josephine is that despite her diabolical actions and dialogue, she stays cool, calm and collected. She loves and believes in herself as much at the end as she does in her opening sequence,” she elaborates.

Her long life, however, has seemingly been cut short by Clarke (Eliza Taylor), but Thompson knows her character too well to believe this is the end of the ridiculously evil Josephine. “Josephine is full of surprises... isn't she? We will just have to wait and see,” she teases, further adding, “Who doesn't want a good love story? It would be cool to see Josie and Gabriel back in action together. Who knows maybe love would set her free… bring her back full circle to the girl she used to be. But then again… evil is more fun.”

Josephine, as one would assume was a wild ride for Thompson, who says the immense support that the fans have showered on her. “Even though they may have ‘hated’ Josephine, the feedback was amazing. I love them, they are awesome,” says Thompson, adding how it was her mother who was more thrilled about her joining the cast of ‘The 100’ than her.

“Before auditioning, I had watched some episodes here and there because Richard Harmon [Murphy] and I were friends and had worked together a few times. I loved it but was slightly intimidated by the amount of watching I had to do in order to catch up. My mom, on the other hand, couldn't get enough. She sat and watched all the seasons. She called me once she finished and said, ‘Sara I need to see you on this show!’ In some way, I believe it was all manifested from her,” she says.

“The audition didn't really imply any of her sociopathic tendencies. Once I found out more about her, I couldn't wait to play her arch. It was the most fun I have ever had with a character by far," gushes Thompson.
