'Clown with no class': Emiliano Martinez slammed for mocking Kylian Mbappé with doll at victory parade
BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA: Argentinian soccer star Emiliano Martinez made fun of French player Kylian Mbappe once again, this time while clutching a baby doll with the French star's face on it during Argentina's championship parade. To make matters worse, Martinez actually raised the Mbappe doll while standing close to Lionel Messi as the two enjoyed Argentina's victory over France in the penalty shootout. The goalkeeper was seen holding a fake baby with Mbappe's face glued on while participating in the bus procession while wearing nothing but shorts, a cap, and sunglasses.
As expected many France and Mbappe fans didn’t take the joke well, as many came out and slammed the Argentine goalkeeper on social media. One person wrote on Twitter, “Hella disrespectful bro, Mbappe finna humble them soon.” “You guys almost lost to France, you BARELY WON!” another added. Someone wrote, “Very poor taste for doing that. That’s not how a true winner behaves.” “This guy is a clown with no class,” yet another user remarked.

Many users also believed that Martinez’s taunting of Mbappe seems to come as he could not stop the French star from scoring during the World Cup Final. One person wrote on Twitter, “Mbappe gave him hard time at work 🤣🤣4goals, and Martinez was in goal.” “He dropped four goals on you bro. I’d chill MAJOR if I were you 💯” yet another user remarked. Meanwhile, the latest post comes after their victory, the Argentina players danced around the locker room while simultaneously singing "A minute's silence for" in chorus, leaving a pause in which goalkeeper Martinez yelled, "For Mbappe who is dead!"

Martinez and Mbappé have been at odds even before the World Cup started. According to Mirror UK, Mbappé claimed that because European football is of a greater caliber than football played in other parts of the world, European teams had an advantage over other teams during the World Cup. “The advantage we have in Europe is that we play among ourselves with high-level matches all the time, such as the Nations League, for example. When we arrive at the World Cup, we are ready, whereas Brazil and Argentina do not have this level in South America. Football is not as advanced as in Europe. That’s why at the last World Cups, it’s always the Europeans who win,” Mbappe reportedly remarked.

Martinez responded, “He doesn’t know enough about football. He never played in South America. When you don’t have this experience, it may be better not to talk about it. But it doesn’t matter. We are a great team, recognized as such.” Martinez came up big with a remarkable save to help his home country defeat France 4-2. He made a dramatic point-blank last-ditch save to send the game to penalties. Kylian Mbappe, on the other hand, also played exceptionally well. He concluded the competition as the tournament's top scorer with eight goals, but he still fell short of capturing a second consecutive trophy despite scoring a hat trick in the World Cup final.
