Quibi's Jennifer Lopez show 'Thanks A Million' gets lauded by emotional viewers for brilliant launch timing
The short-form mobile video platform Quibi launched this midnight and along came all the highly anticipated shows like 'Punk'd', 'Murder House Flip', 'Chrissy's Court', 'Nightgowns' among others.
Jennifer Lopez's show 'Thanks A Million' also released on the platform. It's a 10-episode series featuring important public figures and celebrities. They all come together, joining hands to trigger a chain of kindness by gifting a whopping $100,000 each episode to an unsuspecting but well-deserving individual. The receiver would keep half of the amount and donate the other half of the same to another person he/she/they deem fit. The idea is to implement the 'pay it forward' concept and keep the cycle of good deeds rolling.
By the end of the ten episodes in the series, a total of $1M would have been distributed among people and that is the reason, the series is titled 'Thanks A Million'. The emotional trailer featured a lot of celebrities like Kristen Bell, Karlie Kloss, Kevin Hart and Jennifer Lopez among others and it managed to pique the interest of a lot of viewers who stayed up past midnight to download the application and watch the shows and 'Thanks A Million' seems to have struck a chord with the people who watched it.
