El Paso shooting: Killer blames 'hispanic invasion' for Walmart massacre in sickening manifesto posted minutes before carnage
EL PASO, TEXAS: Investigators were probing if a certain anti-immigrant manifesto posted on 4chan just minutes before the Saturday-morning massacre at a Walmart was written by shooting suspect Patrick Crucius.
During a press conference held on Saturday evening, El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen told reporters they were yet to confirm if it had been written by Crucius, the New York Post reports.
However, investigators were "reasonably confident" by early Sunday that Crucius was the author of the disturbing document.
“Right now we have a manifesto from this individual, that indicates to some degree, it has a nexus to potential hate crime,” Allen said.
Titled "The Inconvenient Truth", the 2,300- word manifesto begins by Crucius proclaiming his support for the Christchurch massacre in New Zealand in March this year.
“This attack,” the author writes, referring to the planned shooting, “is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas. They are the instigators, not me."
“I am simply defending my country from cultural and ethnic replacement brought on by an invasion,” he adds.
The Walmart targeted by Crucius is adjacent to the Cielo Vista Mall, a popular shopping destination frequented by Mexican tourists who cross into the US to shop and then return homewards with their purchases.
The author bemoans in the manifesto that “America is rotting from the inside out,” saying “the heavy Hispanic population in Texas will make us a Democrat stronghold.”
The document blames immigration for the loss of jobs for citizens and even runaway climate change. Crucius also writes about his firearms, complaining that he'd rather have used something more powerful.
Under the heading "Gear", the author states, “Main gun: AK47."
“I realized pretty quickly that this isn’t a great choice since it’s the civilian version of the ak47,” he writes. “It’s not designed to shoot rounds quickly. So it overheats massively after about 100 shots fired in quick succession.”
He then humble brags how he spent less than a month, “not much time at all,” in preparation for the massacre.
“I have to do this before I lose my nerve,” he writes. “I figured that an under-prepared attack and a meh manifesto is better than attack and no manifesto.”
Crucius also claims he's not a racist and that his actions are "faultless."
“This isn’t an act of imperialism but an act of preservation,” he writes of the attack. “America is full of hypocrites who will blast my actions as the sole result of racism and hatred of other countries, despite the extensive evidence of all the problems these invaders cause and will cause."
According to him, if governments can kill millions via "imperialistic wars", he should also be allowed to do so.
