HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS: The 16-year-old teens, who were brutally abused by their mother Zaikiya Duncan, 40, and her boyfriend Jova Terrell, 27, were forced to drink cleaning fluids, burned with bleach and beaten with extension cords. Court documents obtained by KHOU reveal some shocking testimony, including that Duncan gave the boy 24 Benadryl tablets to make him sleep, which triggered a seizure in him.
Meanwhile, the document also stated that their mother poured bleach down their throats as well as on their genitals until the skin burned. She also made them drink cleaners like Lysol and Easy Off if they "talked too much," according to court documents. The document also specified that Duncan, later on, lowered the dosage to 20 tablets, and the girl was also given an unspecified amount of Benadryl.

However, in another video obtained by KHOU, the twins can be seen escaping from their house and seeking help by holding a handcuff in hand. Their hands are swollen, and the boy can also see marks of attack. The teens also revealed to the corporal that they weren't allowed to use the restroom and were forced to defecate and urinate on themselves and then eat and drink it. However, they further explained the duo only had dirty water from a mop bucket to clean the space. Duncan and Jova Terrell were arrested in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, October 18, and Duncan is charged with injury to a child and aggravated assault in Harris County. He's charged with continuous violence against a family member.
The sister-brother duo also revealed they were kept naked and handcuffed to a dolly in the laundry room and their feet were often zip-tied. The teens also complained about how their mother beat them up with extension cords, curtain rods as well as other metal poles. Further, Terrel who is the mother's boyfriend used to heavily attack the guy claims New York Post.
Meanwhile, the victims were heavily malnourished as they were starved and fed one to three times a week, surviving on mustard sandwiches, relish sandwiches, or bologna sandwiches, claimed DailyMail. As per the documents, the boy had found the key to their handcuffs in his mom's purse. Later, he hid the same in his mouth and unlocked himself and his sister. According to Daily Mail, the family had only recently moved into the Houston neighborhood. Their earlier home on Marina Alto Lane had sold in late July, for an amount between $552,001 and $627,000.
According to New York Post, Terrel dreams of being a rapper some day and possesses the name, YBG Joker who only had 21 likes on his Facebook page.“Oftentimes, we think there’s no way they can get through all of this, but children are so much more resilient than we give them credit for, really, what they need is ongoing and consistent support," said Houston Children's Assessment Center psychologist Dr Whitney Crowson on how children can get over traumas of abuse, reported KHOU.
