Texas man allegedly rapes female puppy till her genitals bled, tells owner he was just 'hugging her'
EL PASO, TEXAS: A man has been arrested after he allegedly raped a female puppy, police said. Chevance Smith was reportedly caught sexually abusing the eight-month-old female Boxer/PitBull mix breed dog, named Meda, by its owner on October 3, who immediately called the police and got the accused arrested.
According to reports, the owner of the puppy heard screeching sounds outside their home in the afternoon. They soon went outside to check and discovered that the 24-year-old accused was involved in sexual activity with the animal. At that time, Smith’s boxers were also down and his genitals were out. He was allegedly lying on the ground next to Meda while holding its rear with one hand and choking it with the other hand. When confronted, Smith said: “What? I'm just hugging Meda”.
In addition, to stop the matter from escalating, the suspect offered money to the owner. The owner said Smith told them, “I didn't know you had dibs on the dog." While eyewitnesses said when the owner called the police, the accused became furious and attempted to attack them. He was reportedly held by the people present there at the scene while officers from the El Paso Police Department's Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit reached and arrested him.
The owner informed officers about the puppy’s swollen genitals that were bleeding when Smith was found with it. Meda was then examined by a veterinarian who discovered the puppy “had suffered genital injuries and trauma consistent” according to a news release. Smith was eventually booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on bestiality charge, a state jail felony. His bond has been set at $7,500 by Jail Magistrate Estrada. As per Texas law, if Smith was found guilty, he could face a jail term of between six months and two years along with a fine of up to $10,000.
In another incident, a teenager was arrested for allegedly having sex with a pregnant dog. Raymon McCloud was caught on camera when he was allegedly sexually abusing his friend Kasper Carlton’s dog at his home. The 19-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the bestiality incident that took place in late 2019 in Virginia. "It surprised me. It scared the hell out of me. I never seen anything like that in my life,” the dog owner Carlton said of the incident which was caught on surveillance camera.
Reports also stated that McCloud was just 13 when Carlton saved him from a traumatic life. As a child, McCloud was given drugs and repeatedly abused in his dilapidated residence. But despite his friendship with the accused, Carlton felt it was right to hand over the dog abuse video to Gloucester Animal Control Department. "I set my whole life down and took care of somebody. I hope that what I did was correct. I just wish he would get some help,” Carlton added. McCloud was reportedly arrested on February 10 on charges of bestiality and animal abuse but was later granted bail after paying $1,500.
